They're here! 2008 Eyes On the Nations Calendars

webshot

These calendars are a compilation of my photographic work around the South Pacific islands. They would not be possible without a lot of beautiful people in the world. I am asking for a $20 donation for each calendar and the price includes shipping. The proceeds go to help funding my ongoing work with YWAM and Water For Life. Thanks for your support...from the bottom of my heart!

ps - They make sweet x-mas gifts!! :)

Dawg Days of Summer...

IMG_1428_2

The longer I live on the Big Island of Hawaii, the more I realize what a jewel this isolated erupting rock in the middle of the Pacific is. Within an hour I can be snowboarding the peaks of Mauna Kea, sucking down super-heated hydrochloric acid from active volcanic plumes, getting barreled in hurricane swell, or just seeking solace on an isolated green sand beach. Now don't get the wrong idea, there is much more to living on the island than just basking in God's creation in awe and soaking in the rich beauty around each corner. We actually do work around here and have normal lives that hopefully benefit humanity in some way or another. Here is a little photo taste of my summer of love...helping to host the Community Technology seminars at the University of the Nations, installing a 20 million gallon water reservoir in the cattle county of Waimea, building rain water catchment tanks with the Marshallese community, and of course capturing the beauty and diversity with my camera while traveling between job sites. Hope you Enjoy!!

p.s. - To those of you who are asking about the 2008 Eyes On the Nations Calendars...they are in the making and will be out mid-October!! Thanks for your help!!

If inhaled properly, super-heated hydrochloric and sulfuric acid can instantly kill you, or blind you if your lucky.

In all seriousness, this was quite a dangerous expedition. There were actually 400 small earthquakes while we were on the caldera. The following day, this whole area collapsed on itself. Kinda put's life in perspective.

Work Duty....yes somebody has to do it. I run the Appropriate Technology Village (ATV) on base and these were my work students last quarter. Tough group of girls...they worked twice as hard as crews I led in the past.

For outreach, we helped build tanks in the Marshallese community in the southern part of the Big Island, called Ocean View.
